I have a p-17 (made by Winchester). I need to know if the barrel threads are the same as the model 70 CRF. I am trying to find out if a Model 70 barrel will fit the Enfield. Thank you.

nope..
won't fit..

enfield is acme thread, wincheser is v thread, shanks are totally different size...

a smith could cut down and enfield, as it has a HUGE shank, to a muser/win/whatever

Are Acme threads what the "big fat ,flat threads are"?

Is a Remington Model 30 and 720 both the "big flat threads" Too?

Yes. The model 30 is really an enfield vavient, I don't know about the 720.

ACME threads are designed to be used for translating rotory movement to linear movement, which is not what you want when threading a barrel to an action.

correct,...Acme threads are a 29 degree included flank angle(14.5 degrees per side), a square thread is ...well...square. I am going to say that the Model 30 and the 720 are both the standard "Enfield" thread, both are Enfield variants,.....had a Model 30-S Sporter one time....it's on my list of "guns I've owned and wish I'd kept".....long list .....
