Can anyone here recommend a good gunsmith in the Seattle area to go over a Model 70?

Thanks in advance.

I think its J.K.Cloward. He is in the Seattle area and you can get an address on the African Hunting Forum.

Mike Palazzo- IMO the best here on the wet side. 253-631-3659. I have had 4 customs built by him and wouldn't use anyone else.

Jim is very busy building custom rifles, maybe another option is better. He is very competent, just usually jammmed with orders out for several months.

Anyone worth a damn is going to be backed up a few months to a year+. When I put in my order with Palazzo, I don't plan on seeing the finished project for a year. Alot depends on what you are having done.

dbltap,
If you are looking for someone who can do it all in your area and whose work is second to none you need look no further than Mark Stratton. He is in the Mukilteo area. He graduated from the gunsmithing school in Trinidad Co in the 70's and often teaches there in summer sessions.

Here is his web site.

I think everyone on this short list would do a fine job inspecting a Winchester Model 70. I'm more of a custom builder than a general gunsmith. I don't want to turn work away, but it would be several months before I could get to it.
