I love everything about it but the flat bolt handle. They just don't feel right to me. Very nice rifle though! Jason "Chance favors the prepared mind."

Looks like a rare Kurz action. Bridges do not look original. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.

Forrest, I believe you are correct on both accounts, if you zoom in, you can see the front mount is obviously screwed on. The rear, which most gun smiths feel it's safe to weld/solder, seems to be. here's why I agree with you on the lenth.. the "waffenffrabik mauser oberndorfan: runs into the front ring, which has no ring ridge. it's complete, and I don't think it's a cut down. niec rifle, in any event. Unless this was a commerical Oberndorf (with ring turned down before it left the factory and was stamped) I don't think that this could have been a cut down jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Kurz for sure. I have one almost just like itexcept for the after-market square bridges. I bet this one originally had double set triggers like mine had. Mine has a dovetail in the front ring for claw mounts; I wonder if this one had that at one time as well. John Farner If you haven't, please join the NRA!

Interesting in that there is a huge repair to the wood just in front of the bolt handle extending just into the ejection port cutout. ![]() Aut vincere aut mori

You have an extremely good eye there sir: That patch was literally milled into the stock, a matching piece made and glasss bedded in and the stock resanded and finished.....an excellent patch.....but a patch just the same. ![]() /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Makes you wonder if the reason that it has a recoil pad on it is because they shaved the butt to get the wood for the patch. If the patch did not have fiddleback and mineral streak, 99% of folks would probably never notice it . Well done to say the least! DRSS(We Band of Bubba's Div.) Looking at the photos on Cabelas' site you can see the left-wall thumb cut, here you can see the stripper clip guide slot in the rear bridge. Apparently the Ks had them. Can't make out the serial number. I didn't see .257 Roberts listed as a caliber for the original K (.250-3000 was one). I can handle the butterknife bolt handle, I use it on my Steyr. Who made the safety do you think? Interesting rifle. jim if you're too busy to hunt, you're too busy.

Was just looking at that web site and noticed the patch also. It is not an excelent patch or it would not have been noticed, it is just a patch with poor wood selection if they were trying to do any kind of a match. The gun seems very overpriced, kinda typical of Cabelas.

The comment on the patch is well deserved and in retrospect I'd agree...it should have been done with similar wood About the price...........again fully agree with Chic.....this is a restored version as the 2-pos safety is an add-on.....anyone know when that style of safety became available? /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Agreed. A pretty nice one. But I think one could do a lot better for 4 K! "Bitte, trinks du nicht das Wasser. Dahin haben die Kuhen gesheissen."
