Stock Blanks

I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I have a couple of wood stock blanks and I know nothing about actually transforming one from a wood slab to a pretty stock.

Are there any stock makers that would consider turning one of these for me in trade for their choice of these blanks? I am not looking for anything real fancy, and would be looking for something that would fit a Rem 700 action.

What is a reasonable price to get a wood stock cut? Nothing real fancy, and a copy of something already produced would be OK by me.

Any suggestions? By The way, I am in the Dallas, TX area if that helps any.

Thanks,
Mike

If your blanks are nice it wouldn’t be worth it to swap one just to have someone turn your wood for you.

Biesen’s gets $125.00 to turn your wood using their patterns.
