Does anybody have a source for barrels for 03 Springfields. I have an old sporter that has a cut down military barrel. I want to replace it with a new one. Thanks.

I am not sure what you want if it is another military barrel I have two that have been turned and polished both have new bores, two groove. If its a new commercial barrel try Gunparts, Midway, or Brownell. Never rode a bull, but have shot some. NRA life member NRA LEO firearms instructor (retired) NRA Golden Eagles member

In addition to what has been mentioned, SARCO may have some for sale. Don

The rifle has a chopped military barrel now. I want to put a good 24" barrel on it as the start of a nice sporter. Similiar to a Griffen and Howe. I checked Midway and Brownells. Nothing for a Springfield. A good 4 groove military would work. Anybody know how accurate the 2 groove barrels are?

Then any decent barrelmaker can provide a barrel with the correct threading for a Springfield....... and in any caliber, length, chambering and weight you want. "Bitte, trinks du nicht das Wasser. Dahin haben die Kuhen gesheissen."

In my experience with Springfields, the 2 groove barrels are just as accurate as the 4 groove. NOS Springfield barrels turn up on Ebay now and then.
