Blackbart2ID this Mauser safety....
Ok, so I know this will totally wreck my chances of getting a good deal on this (like I ever had a chance..), but can anyone ID this part:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mauser...&hash=item2ebb3d1956My guess is maybe an older PME item? Seller doesn't know, I've asked.
Really could use one of these, but not knowing who made it makes me a bit leery...

D HumbargerI've been watching that. I know what it's not. It's not a Dakota.

Blackbart2Yeah, its not Dakota, recknagle, or gentry either. not sure what is left.
Who/what is Ed Delorge, Kda55?
It almost looks like one of Ed Lapour's, but the flat on the one side is different. That is what made me think maybe PME.
Maybe Jim Wisner will see this and chime in. Betcha he knows...

J WisnerPrecise Metalsmithing Enterprises, PME made over 7000 of those safties from 1985 to 2002. They were always shipped in the white. Also they had a small number engraved in the striker slot, that matched a number on the bottom of the lever, so they could be matched up after the lever was heat treated.
Legacy had a firm in Italy copy it, the only differnce is the lever retaining screw they used rather than the cross pin, BUT all the ones I had ever seen were blued.
Johansson, also directly copied the PME saftey, the only differnce was the raduis on the arm of the lever.
