mad_jack02modle 70 type safetys
Who has the tooling and is cutting the G.I. shrouds for the side swing modle 70 type safety? I need both large, and small ring shrouds cut.

Duane WiebeIf you're talking about the system 98...either small or large ring Mausers use the same buttress threads on the bolt shroud..same diameter bolt..... You're time /money ahead purchasing a Gentry unit. If you want to get really tight fit, use a La Pour, but these require LOTS of fitting. The conversion you mention is a TWO position safety...does not allow easy disassemby of the bolt innards

larrysJim Kobe does very nice work, from what I hear. He has volunteered to find some parts for me and do some work very reasonably in the distant past.

Jim KobeDon't recognize the screen name but if I did one of the Gentry's for you, don't ask me to do another, they are a POS and flat don't work.

22WRFIf you want an extremely well made 3 position fo your mauser and you want it to look "sort of" like your original mauser safety you can't do better than ones like I purchased from Timan, as shown in the photo.
Another option for a mauser, also shown in the photo, is the FN type, which operates on the left side.
And I also believe Timan offers 3 positions that operate from the left side as well.
