Just bought an mercury recoil suppressor to put in my Tikka T3 300 win mag but have lost the direction on how to install it!
Where is best to put it, top, botton or center of the stock?

Any help appreciated!
Regards Ben

The instructions on mine have said to install it low and parallel to the toe line in the butt, not parallel with the bore. In otherwords you want the back of it running downhill so the mercury collects there before the shot. That allows it to slam into the front of the tube as the gun recoils. I don't know what percent of recoil reduction happens from that impact and what percent is a function of the overall weight increase but that's how they go in.

Unless it made especially for the forearm the butt is the only place it should fit.

Thanks tiggertate, thats what i was looking for!

They say up to 30% recoil reduction in magnum rifles and as my rifle is wery light (6 3/8 lbs)i dont mind the extra weight of it!

Thanks again

mine said to either install parallel with bore or two... i'v done both, and prefer with the toe.

the rifle WILL slosh, but you have to shake the hell out of it

I talked to a factory rep who said they use the stock bolt hole in some models. Am going to order one Monday so if you still need directions i'll send them.
