I've used 3 laminates from elk ridge. I think they are a good stock. I think the inletting is closer than a Richards for example. While I'm not totally thrilled with elk ridge I do have a stock on order from them.

I've bought a lower end walnut stock from Elf Ridge and was completely satisfied for what I was charged. I would order from them again, but would go for a higher grade of wood. Make sure you specifiy everything you can think of when you order the stock. I was buying the stock for a short action with 20-inch barrel and forgot to specify the length of forearm. The stock arrived and the forarm length was about 4-inches longer than I would have liked. I ended up cutting it down and losing the forearm tip...my fault.

I bought a walnut stock from them for my custom mauser. The wood was very nicly figured from the but to the wrist. Had real nice rosewood gripcap and forend cap. Then I found a flaw in the forarm. After alot of sanding and filing it was finally removed. Only problem is I ended up removing alot more wood than I would have liked to. So now I have a somewhat semi-scnable forend. There may have been a better way of dealing with the problem, but I am just a hack so...... ------------------
