Honkey, I agree that their warranty is good, but when I have to have 2 for each benchrest gun it ain't good. One at Leupold for repair and one on the gun. I am down to 2 Leupold BR scopes now as Cecil Tucker has modified them and they work great. My third BR gun has a Nightforce NXS and it is a jewell. Because Leupold is having problems with their erector tubes moving, Br people are freezing their erector tubes in some manner and buying Arnold Jewell's new adj. scope rings at $400 a pair to fix the problem. It is very expensive to buy a $1000. scope {Leupold Comp. Series} spend $400 on rings and $150 to fix the erector tube. You do what you have to do. Butch

"OK friends, I ordered a 2.5 Leupold Ultra lite."

Guess that means that if it doesn't work out, a bunch of us are going to have to hunt our holes. Remember the adage about the value of free advice, Butch! Seriously, though, I can't imagine you will be dissatisfied.

Oh, and rings: too bad it's not a Ruger. IMO, that integral system is the best thing going. Close second, again IMO, is Talley. After much heartache, they are the only rings I use on non-Rugers.

Although I have tried to address the question of scopes on the 458 Lott and the 2.5 Leupold is the only one that has worked for me..

IMHO, the only sight I want or need on a 458 Lott is a ghost peep or Receiver sight, and a gold faced patridge front from sight from NECG. I have no use for a scope on such a rifle and I don't really trust any of them in that class of recoil....Second choice is a shallow V and a 3/32 ivory bead...

As for iron sights, I don't buy excuses, for the most part, such as my eyes ain't what they used to be.. y\You can wear corrective lenses these days, I wear buficals and I can shoot irons, I grew up shooting iron sights...If your near blind, then maybe a scope is for you, but should you be hunting in that condition is always a question....I suppose if your a baby boomer and never used iron sights then perhaps a scope is needed, or some time spent learning to shoot.

Just a personal opinnion, your not required to abide by it! sofa wave
