Does anyone have any experience with the company or their semi-finished stocks?

I tried them once.....that was enough!

Since then I've been sending my blanks to Dennis Olson in Montana and will continue to.....I'm very impressed with his routing.

I bought some wood for a Win M12 from them a few years back and will never use them again. The work was really crappy with lots of wood filler on an upgraded blank and the "4 week" turn around turned into almost 3 months.

They get mixed reviews. They do have some nice wood and some uncommon patterns.

I've used them 4 times now. 3 were excellent and 1 was terrible. Don't forget the term "rough turned blank" it applies here. They make a nice stock. Not on the level of a lot of the stock makers here, but nice never the less.

Here is one Henry did for me a few years ago.

Terry, I have that exact same pattern from GAG on my .338-06. I love the shape, but there's just too much wood. It could be slimmer by 1/8" on each side of the forearm. Plus, it was supposed to have had a "hand rubbed oil finish". I'm pretty sure it's semi-gloss lacquer from a spray can.... I managed to drip some bore cleaner on the right side of the buttstock and poof! a spot with no finish appeared. About the size of a quarter.

I, too, had wait time issues. Can't remember the details, but it took about twice as long as promised to make it here...

I don't think that there is a factory or commercial wood stock available that doesn't have too much wood on it! Espcially around the triggerguard area where the part of your hand between your forefinger and your thumb sits, and also from the area where the barrel sits. All need to be thinned down a bit. One of the reasons why so many people order a custom made stock.

Terry, It appears to be a FN Belguim action....but the properties claim whitworth.

It's absolutely beautiful but can you let us know what action it has?

Hi Vapo, It's a Whitworth with a FN safety I bought off ebay. I think it's about the fastest safety ever made for a mauser rifle and really liked the idea of having it on a DGR. I sold this rifle recently and no longer own it.

MKane160, I'm not sure about your's, but mine is hand rubbed no doubt about it. I'm only speaking from my own experience with the company. I would alway's pay with a C/C and let them know what you expect for your money.

Here is another from them. It's a Winchester M70 chambered in .300H&H I've used this rifle 4 or 5 years now and have really grown fond of it. I did the shapping and finishing on this one myself.

Here is the one that went bad. It's a dropbox Mauser pattern. When I got the stock it had a small patch on the right side in the butt area. I decided it wasn't a big deal and I could fix it later. I fitted and shapped the stock. When it came time to fix the "little" patched area I started digging out the patch matereal only to find a soft spot in the stock. I kept digging and digging until I ended up with a hole about as round and half as deep as a golf ball! I filled that area in with epoxy and then found a neat Teddy Rosevelt stock medallian and inletted that into the bad area Big Grin It looked pretty cool, but I knew what was under there and just couldn't let it go Frowner

Here's what it looked like.

The other was a little Mexican mauser in .257bob, but I don't think I've got any pictures of it.

Like I said, 3 out of 4. Both the hero and the villain.

Be sure to use a credit card, that's the only way you will get your money back if the stock turns up not usable.
