It's unclear what your asking. Can you rephrase it please?

You have a rem 700 in 7rem mag, and are considering converting to 416 rem or 375 rum, and want a heavy barrel.

Okay, I won't warn you off using a rem for a heavy caliber.

I'll offer my opinion, that you should do this in 416 taylor (dies and brass at midwayusa and quality cartridge)

the 416 rem and 375 rum are VERY long cases, 3.65, and will require a new mag box, follower, and a skilled gunsmith to get to feed....

I would want the 416rem to weigh 9.5 (a taylor is fine at 8.5) and a 375 rum would weigh AT LEAST 10.

if you go the taylor route, it's a simple "send it to pacnor" for barrel and bluing

I rebarreled a M700 BDL in 7mm Rem Mag to 7mm STW. I did not have to get a new mag box or follower or make any other changes besides the barrel. There are no feeding problems with this rifle. The 7mm STW is just a necked down 8mm Rem Mag and the 416 Rem Mag is just the 8mm Rem Mag case necked up to 416. My Nosler reloading manual shows the case diameter at the shoulder (.487) to be the same for the 7mm STW and the 416 Rem. There might be some feeding issues due to the larger neck and bullet diameter, but the overall loaded length of the cartridge will not be a problem. According to my Nosler reloading manual, SAAMI specs for overall length of both cartridges is 3.600". I normally load my 7mm STW to a length of 3.675 in a magazine that was originally for a 7mm Rem Mag.
