It was tough getting this out of the bolt body. The spring appears too long. Off a j-lock rem 700 300 mag which had the j lock removed. Is this going to be a performance or reliability issue? thanks!

my J-lock rem had the exact same spring. worked fine for 13 years in my 7RM. still had no issues, i changed it just because. i ordered a new firing pin assembly and shroud from PTG. the new shroud is shorter without the J-lock. I did read that eventually your firing pin "could" experience issues, because there is a cutout in the back of the pin where the J-lock cammed over and locked the pin back. that is why i replaced mine, no cutout (weak point) in the new one.

Apples and oranges. Both make juice. When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years! Rod Henrickson
