Try it yourself. Strip with stripper. You might get it dunked at a furniture place. Brush out the checkering with a bronze suede brush. Sand lightly and always with solid backing. Agressive sanding messes up more stock jobs!! Stain with Pilikingtons M-70 stain, from Brownells. Mask off the checkering. Finish with several coats of thinned satin spar varnish. Float it on with a 1" sable brush form the art supply Put one coat in the checkering. Rub out with automitive rubbing compound and water. Your Done! | |||
