Well I've got a working sxs with a few bugs in it, that's a prime candidate.

I've got other fish to fry, so I could be easily persuaded to let this go if anybody wants to give it a go.

Is that a buffalo horn trigger guard?

Might ought to post the stock dimentions and shotgun barrels specs.

Also, price.

All right. Here's the bug list.

A little history. I bought this in a web auction 4 or 5 years ago from Drury's in Texas. I used it for several rounds of sporting clays and it started to develop a bad habit of not wanting to break open after both shells were fired. I had Dale Tate check it out for me and also remove the ejector springs (I still have them, but the tiny coil springs associated with them are gone but should be fairly easy to replace).

Dale is a Purdey trained gunmaker who builds SxS Hammer guns that he shows at SCI Reno every year, so some of you might know him also. One day while dove shooting the stock chipped a piece off at the head. Dale did this repair

The stiff opening problem kept re-occurring and the following issues have surfaced:

1. The extracter toe ( The little knob by the hinge pin, between the lifters, that protrudes into the fore-end iron)
broke and will have to be replaced for proper ejection operation.

2.The fore end iron is slightly deformed where it meets the action, from the force of breaking opening the action when it got stubborn. Also has a little bit of rust that will probably buff out. (Right side of pic) That's one wide assed funny lookin' beaver tail by the way. It might, or might not be original. I dont know for sure but I came to like shooting with it.

The gun is functioning fine right now as an extracter, which I prefer because my back's a mess and it saves me the bendovers I would have to spend picking up spent hulls off the ground.
But it wouldn't suprise me if the stiff opening issue reappears.

I don't bother Dale Tate with it any more because he's way too busy these days with the hammer doubles he makes. And to be honest, he hates german shotguns. He's Bloody British, you know. Sargeant Major Tate of the Queens Regiment and I think he's still a little pissed at the Huns for blowing up his gaffer's favorite Fish & Chip Shoppe.

The trigger guard is plastic designed to look like horn.

26" Krupp Spezial Laufstahl Barrels in Excellent condition

So that's about it. It's a fine gun but it's gonna need some attention. This is very similiar to the action that Rigby ( of California) was using for their double rifles.

So what do you guys think?

SWD... Paloma is a tiny ex gold mining village south of Jackson, right next to Lake Pardee.
