Have for years, cleaned the front my revolver cylinders with Scotch Brite. Works well but now all my blued revolver cylinders have no bluing. Is there some form of "cold blue" that will change that? And please don't scold me as I can (and have) live with cylinder front ends that don't match my S&W blueing! NRA Benefactor Member US Navy Veteran

The fastest/cheapest way(based on my experience) is to use Brownell's Oxpho Blue. Apply according to directions. It has a nice blue tint that will blend with the original blue. In the future, use this with oil: https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic...vPhwvTke3HUcBTcunoW4

And stop using scotch write on blued steel.

here's a chance to experiment!! try this -- birchwood casey "plumb brown" on clean, degreased metal (use a scrap piece first) - it will turn very brown then boil and oil it -- opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Ive tried that. You dont want to do that. Its effective, but it turns a butt ugly flat black. And thats if youre lucky. It very aggressive stuff. Just use oxpho or formula 44. And yes, let the hoopes #9 do its job instead of scotch brite. AK-47 The only Communist Idea that Liberals don't like.
