How would one get the tattoo CZ has placed on their 550 receivers off?

If you are referring to the "billboard" on the left receiver rail, remove it with a fine toothed file. Then use a Dremmel tool with a "flapper" sandpaper wheel to blend and smooth the edges. Beadblast blue and you will never know it was there.

I'd start with a file, then a stone, then scotch brite pad and reblue.
