I am just starting my hobby gunsmithing and one of my first projects was to rebarrel a clapped out old Parker Hale 98 from 243 to 308. Problem is unless I place the rounds at the front of the magazine the bolt over rides them and fails to feed.Any suggestions? I never tried it as a 243 so do no know if this has always been the case. If you load the rounds with base to the rear is the case in consistent contact with the feed rails? You may need a stronger mag spring if not.

Don't know about the Parker Hale but the Mark X under all it's names had a partition in the box to hold the shell forward and used a shorter follower. As usual just my $.02 Paul K | |||

I had a issue with my 1917 Enfield in 404 where the rails were opened a but to much on one side and the bolt face lower face opening sat inside this dimension. Once I opened up the bottom edge of the bolt face, it worked 100%. "Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid" -- Ronald Reagan "Ignorance of The People gives strength to totalitarians."
