I know these are being put together out there...what are you doing about a reamer?

As of last week, SAAMI has not written off on the 416 Ruger

hornady is a saami "member" (founder, actually) and the hornady print IS what saami will accept and publish ... saami doesn't edit them, then publish them .. and verify max pressures ..

I have a .416-.375 Ruger wildcat reamer and was told that that is the same as what the new .416 Ruger is.....but talk is cheap....

Ask Hornady is the best bet, as until SAAMI publishes the data, we're all guessing.

Hornady sent me loading data for the .416 Ruger and I can post it here if anyone wishes

Fit a 416 pilot to your .375 Ruger reamer and then neck and throat is separately. If it runs true to other such cartridges, it should headspace the same as the .375 Ruger.

Yeah..seems like the only solution to delivery...just kind of wimpy I guess. Saw such a mess with Rigby chambers years ago.... and 500 Jeff... I think there was an issue with the 300 WSM.. I'll lean on JGS a little more

Duane,
Sounds like that order might be more trouble than what its worth. What kind of knucklehead would want that anyway? Big Grin

If this gets to be too much trouble, let me know, we can figure something else out.

The draw for the 416 ruger has been released - call Mitch at hornady, and ask him for a copy.

From a Ruger 77 Hawkeye and 20" barrel

all charges are MAX! 400 grain RN

H-335.......69.5.....2200 FPS
Varget......68.1.....2150 FPS
IMR-4320....69.0.....2150 FPS
Win-748.....75.3.....2250 FPS
RL-15.......75.5.....2250 FPS
Win-760.....80.8.....2250 FPS

The gun I built easily handled 83 grains of Win-760 for 2,400 FPS.....awesome!
