I think the original and repros have such a deep curve that bending a pad may not work. IIRC there's a top-thingy to that buttplate too. You might try a lace-on buttpad with an little wood cresent shaped insert inside. | |||

I had a lace on buttpad with a foam insert custom made for my Model 92 lever action by this guy..www.levergunleather.com/ It has a curved plate. It turned out SWEET! and I got my initials burned into the leather - cost was about $75 | |||
