Recoil pad for cresant butt plate on Winchester 1886

Is there a recoil pad that I can soften with heat, hot water and bend to fit the stock.
Any suggestions are gratefully accepted.

I think the original and repros have such a deep curve that bending a pad may not work. IIRC there's a top-thingy to that buttplate too.

You might try a lace-on buttpad with an little wood cresent shaped insert inside.

I had a lace on buttpad with a foam insert custom made for my Model 92 lever action by this guy..www.levergunleather.com/ It has a curved plate.

It turned out SWEET! and I got my initials burned into the leather - cost was about $75
