I'm looking for recommendations for barrel twist for a rifle in .358 STA that I'm building as a long-range rough-country wet-weather rifle for game up through moose and brown bear. I will be shooting bullets in the 225 to 275 grain range, pushed as fast as I safely can. I want to build my primary loads around the Barnes 225-grain Triple Shock bullet and the North Fork 270-grain bullet, if I can get them to shoot.

While not an STA if I have measured correctly my 358Norma is a 1 in 14. I have used up to 275s with no problems.

As usual just my $.02

My STA has a 14. It really likes the 250's.
