I know A-square's triple coils are largely disliked due to aesthetics but I would like to try one on my .505. Is anyone able to make one? All input appreciated.

Any old 6x6 fence post will do.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Contact buckstix, he might know. I think he has a boatload of A-Squares.

You guys beat me to it; I was going to say that they sell them at Lowes' lumber yard.
But really, it would be easy to make a pattern. I will make you one for $900.

There is nothing magical about the Coil-check stock. It has the three things any stock should have to reduce felt recoil: a straight comb, meaning minimal drop at the heel, a large surface area on the butt pad, and weight. You can build a stock that has those attributes and still be proud to take it out in public.

P.S. a quality recoil pad like a Pachmayr Decellerator helps too. Not sure what A.A. used on his stocks.

If you must; MPI still makes the coil-check pattern.

And they work.

I have one on my 416 Taylor and it really helps.

I would rather have a regular application of two black eyes and a bloody nose, although as Bitterroot has said, that is not really necessary.

Just a big a-- ugly stock. Nothing special about it except lots of extra wood for weight.

Get a mesquite stock for some extra weight - I have 2 - and they look good.
