I believe that the M99 action was lengthened to accomodate the longer .308 Winchester round. What I don't know is, did Savage lengthen the action of their ALL their M99's or just the .308 and .243 models. All I know about my rifle is that it was made after 1951. ZM | ||

Feed a 308 in your mag & see if it cycles as far as the chamber!! If it does your good to go. If you seat your bullets out on your 300 make sure your not running the bullets into the lands or your pressures will RISE!!!! | |||
