WOW shocker I'm really getting a ton of interest on this little gem. Cool Big Grin

Ive put together an FAQ to try and answer all the questions. If I missed anything please ask.

FAQs

Q: What actions does it fit?
A: Mauser '98 with the use of a long cocking piece, and 96's and 95's as is & US Springfields for sure.
It will not fit a CZ550; and I’m still exploring the Ruger MKII.

Q: What is the cost and lead-time?
A: Right now $225. The cost is going to go up with the next revision change, any sight ordered after 5/14/07 will be $250.00 plus shipping and handling. Lead time is 3 to 4 weeks from receipt of down payment. Down payment is $120 with balance due at delivery.

Q: What is the lowest height over the center line of the bore?
A: Current design calls for .948" (24.0mm) from C'line of barrel. However, the center height can be changed before I cut the dovetail; you just need to tell me what you want when you order.

Q: What is the total sight travel?
A: .375" (9.5mm) of travel.

Q: What size is the mounting dovetail?
A: The dovetail is cut +.001/+.006 over size for hand fitting to a .290â€x60º dovetail. The .290†carbide cutter is available as a stock item from Brownells; order number #080-621-291.

Q: What is the material?
A: All parts are medium carbon steel, with the exception of the ball detents, these small parts are made of 300 series stainless.

Q: Does the thumb wheel lock the sight stem.
A: No, the thumb wheel simply drives the sight stem up and down. A series of detents locate the stem at the correct height.

Q: Does the stem come with the detents already cut?
A: No, the detents need to be cut in at the time of mounting and regulating the sight to a specific load for the rifle the sight is mounted to. Full instructions are included for this procedure with the purchase of the sight.

Q: What does it weigh?
A: the four I’ve made so far averaged 436.5 grains, lets call it an even ounce.
Rev.2 will be slightly lighter.

Rusty,

I received your sight and instructions last week...superb work!

I have a question: This will go onto a Mauser action in 500 Jeffery caliber.
Would you consider (for a fee of course) regulating the sights when it's complete?
Something like 50 yards, 100 yards, and 200 yards.
(I can't picture myself shooting a 500 Jeffery at 200 yards, but the sight has room for the detents, so why not)

Regards,
Garrett

I'm not sure I want to shoot it shocker!
But sure I can mount it and regulate it for you. (This is going to hurt isn't it?) Gives me an excuse to buy a Lead Sled.
Send me an e-mail and we'll go over the particulars.
Do you happen to know the muzzle velocity and BC of the bullet/load you plan on using?
