I have bought Lilja in the past but Mcgowen lists the Douglas 5a contour and about half the cost. Good or bad to report?

I've had very good dealings with McGowen and turn-around time is fast. They can also install sights and other barrel mounted accessories {if you send these to them}. Their work is very good.

I've been happy with the couple I have purchased.

I love em.. so does CZ .. all the 404,505, 450rigby and 500 jeffe are mcgowen barrels

I had them rebarrel three rifles. All three barrels are good shooters. Their customer service is good. They answer the phones and deliver on time.

I have purchased one barrel from them which required them to duplicate the contour of an existing barrel. They did a good job, the turnaround was only three weeks, and the new barrel shoots well.

I am planning to use them for another barrel.

Thanks for the replys. I will order one tomorrow, a 458 tube with 14 twist. My heirs will never know the difference.

I am about to send them my "cigerette" mauser and have them copy that profile - in 10,75x68!
