Steve E.Blasting media??
I have a beater stainless 45 with bright flats and the top of the slide and underside of the frame are matte. I was wondering what type and size of media (for a small sand blaster) would be needed to dull the flats to more closely the matte sides. This is an experiment in progress and any advice would be appreciated.

jeffeossoglass beads -- i forget what size ... run them through a small pot blaster 3 times on junk, and they break up nice ... pretty matte finish
larger beads means a coarser finish .. but you knew that

Steve E.Knew that about the larger beads, I'll run some small beads through a couple of times and see what happens. Thanks.

Gary MacDonaldDown here in s Florida, you go out back take a shovel , flip the soil over dig down about 6 inches and hit the white sugars sand . Let dry , sift and blast for a very fine matte finish .
