VZ.24 bolt and a 1909 Argentine action?

Guys,

I have a Douglas barrel chambered for .376 Steyr that was once fit to a VZ.24 action. Also have the bolt from that combination.

Is it likely that this bolt would fit a DWM 1909 Argentine action assuming that the barrel is headspaced to the action at Douglas?

Thanks!

Dear Mike:

I just ran a stripped WW-I era Brno bolt (should be the same as the later VZ-24) into a 1909, and it fit.

Sincerely,

Chris Bemis

Jeffe,

Thank you! Will check with Douglas tomorrow to see if they had one or used a rental when they cut the chamber on this barrel.

Is the DWM Argentine a decent choice for a .376 Steyr?

Also ... sent note to Neal asking that he let me know when he can cost the .458 AR brass. (Can't bring myself to call it AccRel regardless of what the Aussies have to have).

If you don't want to use the vz24 bolt, I've got two 1909 Arg bolt assemblies that are basically new. The handles were forged down, but the bolts weren't ruined, and could be used as-is, or a new custom handle welded on.

It's possible that I could trade one for the vz bolt.

If interested, we could exchange PM and pictures. I have no problem sending you both bolts, and let you choose the one you like best, or just return them if they dont work for you.

Kabluewy,

Still working the deal for the action. Have to get my FFL on board.

Bolt face of the VZ bolt is already opened up to the Steyr case and the handle has been worked ... so you may not be interested.

Thanks for the offer ... will get back to you!

Yea, after I thought about it a bit, I realized the VZ bolt face & extractor has been opened.

My bolts have the original face and extractor.

Oh well, if I can help let me know.
