Gentlemen,

last summer I bought this nice Mannlicher in 8x60S Magnum from an older hunter for about $175, who a longer time had tried to get rid of it. It was in good shape, but the wood needed some work and the steel a new blueing.

This summer I had the pleasure to visit the Varberger rifle factory here in Sweden (www.varberger.com), where I polished all parts and had it all blued in their process. The stock was carefully cleaned with a ammonia solution and afterwards treated with pure linseed oil. I think the result is quite acceptable.

Best regards,

Fritz

Does this one have a set trigger?

It is a single stage direct pull, which is rather old fashioned. However, a 2 lb pull which breaks clearly is good enough for me.

There were some direct pulls made, and perhaps they have been more common here in Europe.

Best regards,

Fritz

Does this one have a set trigger?? All the ones I have seen have the double set triggers, so when I first saw your pictures, I thought you did not have a set trigger. But, then I noticed how far forward in the trigger guard your trigger sits, and now I'm not so sure what this is??

Nice rifle.
