Hi, I'm thinking of picking up another rifle & the candidates are....... A Pre-64 Winchest M-70 serial #150's in mint condition in a 270 or a Colt/Sauer also in mint condition in a 30/06. The Pre-64 I can pick up for around $800 or I can get the Colt/Sauer for about $900. I don't have a Pre 64 or a Colt/Sauer yet & think both would be a nice addition to what I have now. I plan on using either one for general hunting mainly whitetail or mulies. I can only get one of these,so which would you choose & why ?? Thanks for your input. ![]()

I'd give the nod to the M70, that is a classic gun in a classic chambering, and perfect for what you are wanting. If you were to add bears I'd suggest the Sauer but you aren't. Also, I think you need to get a pre-64 M70 before you get anything else......

The M-70. It's a piece of the past that will never be replicated. The Colt Sauer is just a Sauer-90 with funny roll marks; you can get a new production 90 anytime you want.
