When a rifle is re-blued is it common for the inside to get reblued or is it plugged to prevent the blueing of the inside?
Another question: if the inside does get blued will that effect accuracy and how long on average to shoot it out, if the gun is cleaned every five or so rounds?
thanks

If the rifle is to be "rust blued" the bore is plugged. When "hot blued" the barrel is left unplugged. The blueing dissappears from the bore after awhile. The blueing in the bore has no effect on accuracy.

a reblue usually means a hot blue, right? If you plug a hot blue (290degish F) barrel, you will have an eruption of VERY high pH caustic splattering all over the shop.

a true rust blue one certainly must plug...

if it's a hot water blue, you could have the same issue as above

if you rifle is a factory rifle, it was hot blued and dunked whole
