Very primitive method.

draw file parallel to the bore.
shoe shine with paper (perpendicular)
block of wood with paper 45 deg to bore
shoe shine with paper (perpendicular)
etc.

make sure they will still work with see through scope mounts rotflmo

Sure would make a cool looking rifle if you'd use this receiver for something that doesn't cover up front ring!

beautiful, and to cover the crest would be criminal, as testified by the responses; what was the grit on the paper- I mean what did you start with, and finish with?

I saw a Radom I felt the same way about, I just couldn't imagine covering it.
