Gentlemen I finally got my Boyds JRS stock for my new 500 AccRel on a Ruger action. Unfortunately I have been sent the stock model that has been inletted and lightened in the forend I'm just wondering how I would go about bedding the second recoil lug if there is no wood there to bed into ? Normally I would be happy its actually an extra cost to have this done, but not this time, should I fill it with Devcon, get a wooden piece put back in ? ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME regards S&F

Fit a piece of dense wood and glue it in place, then bed as usual. It will be plenty strong. John Farner If you haven't, please join the NRA!

Just fill the area needing the bedding compound with it, rougth up the wood somewhat so it will stick. Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild

500 AccRel, is that like a 50 beowulf? Here is what I would do- Fill the void with modelers wax, bungee the action into it, remove and then use the wax piece to make a lost-wax cast lug in brass that you can then solidly bed and screw into the stock cutout. Other than playing with some fire, it won't take much more time to do than the other methods. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside
