Don't you think the wood is a bit goudy? You didn't have a nice plank of birch laying around?

Very nice, EAW mounts?

Is the scope a 3-12x56 Zeiss Conquest?

The rifle looks very nice. The scope is altogether too much and spoils the overall proportions. Your eye may see it differently of course.

Nice, but are the screws timed or did you take the easy route and go hex.

It is better than a .270 winchester. Very nice furniture on that.

Don't mean to step on your toes, but it looks to me like Claro. All that fiddleback and dark wood? Nice one though.

Nice rifle!

What can you tell me about the Scope mounts and scope?

And what bolt did you use? I really like the shape of the bolt?

The scopmount is Recknagels G9, The scope is Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50, The bolt should be the original bolt of a pre-64 from `47.

Thank you all for fine compliments Wink. I must admit I have been heavily inspirered of some of the fine american made custom sporters seen on this forum patriot
I wanted a classic american style sporter and with Roy Weatherbys first commerciel cartridge, a great combination, of rifleaction, barrel, caliber, trigger, scope(american assembled), wood would do the trick. With a later perspective , talley rings would made have been the right choice...However Recknagels scopemounts are really some of the finest too.

Talleys suck compared to the Recknagel and EAW mounts. The only upside is that Talleys are quite a bit cheaper.

You selected nice parts!

Very nice indeed ; Might I suggest a light colored table cloth when snapping a photo

of firearms in the future . It really helps accentuate what your looking at without over exposure .

Quality firearms deserve quality praise . VERY NICE WORK !.
