AR gun smith in the Houston or San antonio area.
I am thinking about having an AR upper built on a wild cat caliber. It would be a very simple bore diameter change.

Any one have a smith that you recommend in the area??/

Ernest, what are you building and what barrel are you using? If it is a dedicated ar barrel, it may be as simple as torqing the new bbl in and checking headspace. Lee.

going to try the 5.56 opened up to to 6.8 for giggles and grins.

If you own a gun and you are not a member of the NRA and other pro 2nd amendment organizations then YOU are part of the problem.

Tip Burns in Canyon Lake, TX is one of the best around, just about 40 miles NNE out of San Antonio.

Just buy a 6.8 upper and rock on. If you're a lefty, Stag Arms already makes one for you. Look at their 2TL model. I have information from a reliable source that these uppers are good shooters.

The whole object is to use cheap plentiful brass that can be discarded with one shooting. Other positive thing is that I want it to function thru AR 15 mags with out modifying anything. I'll keep every one posted.

I did not know Tip did AR work? I think I have a smith lined up.

Noveske and Barrett also make very nice 6.8 uppers and barrels, and all you have to do is get some 6.8 mags and your're ready to roll.

6.8 mags

Be warned. They only hold 25 rounds in the 30-round envelope. Stock up. You don't want to run short of ammo when the zombies attack...
