Hi yes. I can send you some photos of an early H&H 375H&H take down on a magnum mauser if that would help? That is, barrel unscrews with forend, not barreled action takes out of stock.

Cheers, Chris

Hi Yes

I do not know of anyone that offers drawings for takedown rifles.
The only place that I have found any drawings is in doing patten searches. If you have the patten number it would be no trouble to find.
There is mutable types of takedown systems on Mausers, what type are you looking for?

Rockdoc
Does your pictures show the takedown mechanism out of the wood? I am always interested in more pictures.

I've built a number of takedowns on the 98 system. I think a plain simple latch to keep the fore arm and receiver in battery is plenty adequate for a dangerous game rifle (i.e. 100 yards) accuracy.

When a guy wants a 270 for mountain long range shooting in take down, you have to start getting REAL precise. Everyhing must have repeatable "return to zero"

For such a rifle, I use a copmplicated cam system to draw the fore end section TIGHT against the Receiver section..becomes a literal one piece stock..except weather has no effect..no warpage..etc

I do not offer drawings because it seems that I change this a little...change that some...well, you get the idea.

I will ask my gunmaker to take some photos of it out of the stock.

yes, I will send photos of rifle still in stock today. You will get a good idea how it works. I have seen photos of other Hollands' with this mechanism. Mostly you see method where the barreled action is removed from the stock (well that's mostly what I've seen).

Duane, I would like to see photos of your method.

Cheers, Chris

hi
thanks for replies. i have worked as a tool maker in my younger days and have some basic knowledge of workshope and machins.
i found a lot of cheap second hand barrels sold by guys which are forced to sell thier rifles . here we have a law which limits the number of gun for gun owners, but having one gun with many barrels counts as on gun and i try to make a swap barrel or a take down rifle either on a husqvarna 1640(smal ring) or husqvarna 640(large ring) mauser action.
best regards

Hi,
Google have many patents of take down rifles.
If you do a search you can get some ideas.
I remember 4 or 5.
If you like I can search my files.
