I would like to know the twist rate that will do a good job of stabilization for a 140 gr. Nosler Partition, 7MM at 2800 fps. and for a 160 NP, 7MM at 2700? Someone with a good ballistics program that can help? Arthur Olds

I believe the standard twist of 1-9 for 7mm would be the way to go since both of your bullet weights and velocities are pretty 'standard' for that caliber. http://www.shilen.com/calibersAndTwists.html Shoot straight, shoot often. Matt

As Matt Salm says 1-9 is pretty standard and will work well. If you normally will shoot nothing less than 140's then I would look at 1-8. I like the tighter twist so I don't have to push the bullets so fast to get accuracy. I just built one for a customer who shoots 170's and 175's for everything. Can't tell you how it shoots, yet. He wants to do the stock work....Tom SCI lifer NRA Patron DRSS DSC
