How is the regular trigger on the model 11 savage 7mm-08. Is their new accutrigger (glock look alike) trigger worth the extra money?

I've got a couple of Savages and my least favorite thing on them is the stock trigger. It can be re-worked into a decent trigger but Sharpshooter Supply's replacement trigger (about $70) is fantastic and an easy do it yourself project. I have no direct experience with the the new stock Accu-trigger but everything I've seen on them say that it is outstanding. I haven't bought one yet because I got on a custom gun kick this year.

If I were buying a new Savage right now I'd stick with the old trigger. My reasoning is that the new AccuTrigger is not adjustable for creep, and I'm not sure it's adjustable for overtravel. My neighbor has one and I've used it a little, but not much. If you stick with the old trigger, for hunting the stock trigger is very good and adjustable, for target/varmint I'd put a sharpshooter trigger in which is fully adjustable and a super trigger. I see now Rifle Basix is making a trigger that will replace both stock Savage triggers, so that's nice to see.

I have no experience with the new trigger, but have heard good things about it. My savage had a nice pull, but with a little creep and some overtravel. I got a good 'smith here to work on mine, it now has a 3# pull that is like breaking glass. Cost, $35.00. Money well spent. Now if I could get him to work on my 35 whelen. ![]() Good luck and good shooting, Eterry

I've tried the new accutrigger and it works very well, very crisp and light but long as I live, I'll never get used to a trigger on a trigger...Gary D.

I know what you mean GaryD, I can't get my trigger finger wrapped around two trigger at one time either.

That is what I am curious about. I know that my Glock shoots well with this set up but it is still different. Guess the boy can get use to either.

The new Glock type trigger is the trigger they are using on their 2004 hunting rifles.
