Anyone up to speed on M1 Carbines? My daughter brought her boyfriend's brother's M1 Carbine home for me to fix. It is a National Ordinace and needs a new slide. The current slide appears identical to my GI Underwood, but does not have a slide lock. I installed my Underwood slide and the rifle appears to function normally.

Sarco lists two slides for the M1 Carbine, GI and Late GI. Which would be appropriate for the National Ordinance carbine?

LATE!!!!

national Ord. bought the end runs of several rifles, carbines and 1903a3s to name 2.

these are sometimes bastardized actions, but they are definately of late production.. as these are the unfinished pieces
