I recently bought a parts kit from one of the companies that tears down police confiscated guns for parts. The bolt and bottom metal were useful to me, but that also means you buy the stock and barrel.

This barrel had a Lyman 57K mounted to the side. Odd place to put it, but OK. I'll save the sight for something, but how they mounted this is really a spectacle.

Yes... those are two broken taps, and then two new holes (that look like they were done with a hand drill), and yeah... one goes all the way thru to the chamber.

He probably didn't even notice the two pimples in his brass when he fired it. We have idiots here that do stuff like that.

One of the indoor ranges in the hood has an FFL. Owner used to buy boxes of handguns from the NYPD.

Any unusable frames had to be turned back in to be disposed of. If he made 1 work it would pay for the box. He'd usually get a few revolvers he could sell and a bunch of good parts. Model 10's and snubby's.

Oh no. Bubba strikes again.
How's the rifling? Barrel not worth shortening and re-threading and chambering?
