Danny Pedersen has closed his business due to health problems. Work is no longer being accepted. I'm handling the closing with Danny's wife.

Sorry.

I don't bother with reboring; I always just fit a new barrel.

I have a friend with one of those for sale. Beautiful rifles and this one is not drilled or tapped.

How should I know that you have an engraved rib barrel; from what I see, it is a plain round barrel.

WEll your a gunsmith and an expert, you should know that all JP Sauer Mausers have an engraved solid rib and an oct to round barrel at least on the upper end and probably all as far as I know and I collect them! Eeker Big Grin

come on, ray -- at the rate that actions are rebarreled, it would be an assumption that it had the original barrel

Here is the only JP Sauer I have (1942). I checked the barrel under the hand guard; it's round.

Yes during WW2, several European gunmakers had to build actions for the super race......

JP Sauer btw built there own commercial 98 Mausers. and no round barrels..

I have two examples of Richj's commercial one in 8x57JS and the other a 30-06..both original not drilled and tapped, the perfect bolt action IMO other than the double set triggers..
