Front recoil lug

On a big bore rifle that has a front recoil lug, why is it that you don't bed it like you would the front receiver recoil lug?


The only easy day is yesterday!

to get it out... you CAN do it like the front, in a seperate pour, but then you will have to drift it out.

Imho, the barrel mounted recoil lug should be made with the sides and rear of the lug cut with tapers so it won't be trapped with the bedding material.
