Ok, some douchebag that works for the USPS stole my 416 Remington Blaser R8 barrel out of the box. Box showed up at my local USPS with a damaged box sticker on it and no barrel.

So now I am on the 416 Rem mag market again, and I don't want to spend $3000 on a Blaser R8 factory barrel.

I have owned several m70's and am thinking about going that route.

I want to put a McMillan Mc-Woody safari stock on it, drop belly magazine, and some good mounts.

What other stocks are available that would worth an expanded magazine?

Thinking about Smithson mounts, but I have yet to contact him. I think he was at $1200 or so for mounts if he is still doing them.

Wyoming, I don't know about your other items but I can highly recommend the Smithson scope mounts. I have them fitted to my GMA actioned rifle. Have used them 11years. I have two sets of rings with a spare scope zeroed for backup. The always go back on perfectly - perfect zero. My rifle is a 338RUM. These are worth whatever they cost. Perfection is always expensive.

i have had a couple of the m70 416s ... something in my memory says the rear scope mount is specific to that rifle - i could be wrong
