Has any one out there recent experience of the state of the Order book of Ted Blackburn or his delivery dates.

My riflemaker fried here in the U.K has 2 such mag boxes on order, both ordered last August for a December 06 delivery, still nothing and now difficult to get any form of response save for the odd "will be ready i a few weeks"

Is there anyone else able to offer Oberndorf style magnum boxes that will accomodate the 416 Rem / 458 lott rounds.

While they make a great product. Delivery and communication are not high on the radar screen.

Last item was a trigger. I ordered in May06 was told it was in stock. Three weeks later after 4-5 calls to the voice machine I got a person. Was told they were out and it would be a couple of weeks. Trigger showed up on Nov 30, 06.

No question he will get his boxes. Just don't hold his breath.

As usual just my $.02

I've spoken to Ted or Maggie about every month since January of last year when I ordered a 4x. They've had lots of production and health problems that have delayed delivery. After 15-month wait I got my order two weeks ago. I really didn't mind the wait but every time I called they told me "it'll be about three weeks."

If you want the Blackburn I guess you just have to wait, but I've seen Sunny Hill products and they're very well made--you might see if that would suit your project.

For my son's pre-64 Model 70 project, Roger Ferrell wanted to use Blackburn, but the wait was too long so we went with Sunny Hill.

I'm very pleased with the components and Roger did a hell of a job.

Brownells shows the Sunny Hill (Pete Greisel) mag boxes in their catalog. With Brownells you get pretty good information about availability and delivery times.

How long ago did Blackburn switch over from tracing to CNC?

Spoke to Ted back in Feb. and order a couple triggers, said he was at least 2 months backed up, maybe by May. Also he was looking to get some help from a large Seattle production machine shop to catch up on his back orders.
Time will tell.

My triggerset arrived safely this morning. Even if they are a bit slow, one thing you've got to recognize, is that they are reliable.
Thank you Maggie
