I'm looking for any info on a custom gunsmith that called his company Mountain Rifles. All I was told was they thought it was in Montana and he died in a car wreck/hunting accident. Sound familiar to anyone?

montana rifle company, or MRC for short around here to my knowledge is out of business, they had a novel idea that just didnt' work, the actions where too heavy and ruff for some people purposes, I don't know if these are the same people you are referring to
in times when one needs a rifle, he tends to need it very badly.....PHC

I thought the company you are talking about is either in Utah or Alaska and their speciality is very light weight accurate rifles. I may have some information filed away in another building that I will try to locate this week.

I also thought MRC was still in business but trying to sell the action part of their business. Have they indeed closed up completely?
Like you guys I thought the question was the action portion. My old boss told me he had ordered one of their barrels last week. So I assume they are still in business.
As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Mountain Rifles Inc., Dana Campbell's company was in Palmer Alaska. As D99 said, he died several years ago. He built some very accurate flyweight mountain rifles, from what I can gather. I was saving my pennies to have one built at the time of his death.
