Sandpaper on a dowel. 120 grit works fine.

for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

It takes a while. How much are you trying to remove? Is it straight taper or curves and stuff? I used a combination of sandpaper on a dowel and a dremel with a cylindrical cutter on my 338. CAUTION IS REQUIRED with the dremel Its real easy to get carried away. DW
