I would have politely walked the customer over the scope mount rack and shown him a proper mount for the shotgun. All while trying to keep a very straight face or calling him a complete dumb ass

It looks like a model 12 And if it is you need to give him props. At least he didn't D/T a classic. The hose clamps will scratch the finish but no permanent harm will be done.

Now I honestly believe this picture is completely bogus

Before I boresighted it I'd try to sell him a Cerakote job on the hose clamps and "scope mount." Just looks halfazzed without the finishing touch.

The good thing about that mount is one only has to apply a brace and bit to make a "See Through" mount.

No high dollar fancy machinery and tooling required.

I have found that soft pine scope bases will warp in humid weather and change point of impact.

Better to use oak.

If I do say so myself Oak would be completely out of place on a arm stocked with American black walnut. I say you would need to take High resolution photographs and send those off to the hardwood dealers to locate a fine piece of American black walnut that matches the grain flow and color of the stock. If that is not feasible you may as well use a set of Weaver mounts Roll Eyes

Hose clamps should be stainless too, would not want to stain the wood with a rust stain now would we.

The trigger lock is a nice touch, too.

I wonder how one loads the magazine with the hose clamp in the way.

I hope the scope is at least a 3-9X variable with a mil-dot reticle.

I believe he will need a lace-on cheekpiece to complete the outfit, with maybe an elastic shell holder on the buttstock.

If the owner had cut the hose clamp ends shorter I might believe it, but I gotta call BS as those ends are going to hang up on his sleeve when he cycles the action.

maybe he is waiting till after its all dialed in, then he'll trim it up, and make it look sweet. I believe its a pump shotgun, so the shells load from the bottom.
