This one started out as a 30-06. Dad built it in 1948 from a five dollar enfield that he got from the DCM. The redfield peep was about 5 bucks at the same time. In 56 or 57 he dropped it in the everglades and it was under water for about a week before they were able to find it. He salvaged the wood, got a new Douglas bbl. in 375 and reworked the action.

Thought I'd share as it might give someone an idea or two. They're such a great action and the 30s has the guide rib on the bolt.

Great looking Enfields. Lots of good ideas on bottom metal. Posting some details of the metal off the rifle would be very helpful and much appreciated. Who did the metal work? Very talented guy!!!!

Very kind of you to take the time to post these. I have two P17's in process right now; I will continue to refer to these pics as I work out the details.

Thanks again.

Dale-

Thank you for posting those pictures. Your Enfields/Mod. 30's are stunning to say the least.

For us Enfield fans, your pictures are a real treat.

Many, many thanks.

that's a classy line-up. as the folks above, the enfield/remingtons are some of my favorites. I have an M17 action still in it's shipping box c. 1947, and I can't make up my mind what to do with it.
