dempseyAnybody named Fritz? I'm afraid that was probably a labor of love and bears a face only it's mother could love. However if it was inletted for a WBY it'd probably sell

I bet the guy had some talent though.

Id like to see a 1957 Buick road master front grill and bumper inleted into a weatherby stock. Now that would be Sweet!!!

schromfActually if he hadn't carved it and had done it up in a really old full length mauser like a 1888, it would have had possibilities for a repro of a rifle like was used in North Africa and the Arabian Penensula for years. Butt stock would need to be different also.
I am not a big Weatherby fan so ugly is a ugly does. Somebody had too much time on their hands.

ShopCartRacingMy guess is it is either a drill gun, like for ROTC or it is in memoriam of the maker's son or something.
It was never designed to have a gun put in it.

Well, I'm no expert, but one picture seems to show that it has not been inletted, and I would expect that to be done before the inlay...
...so I'm betting it was a showpiece. Maybe something to put up at a booth or trade show for publicity. Lookie what I can do!
Or maybe they had WAAAAAAY to much free time!
