Are all Enfield triggers the same, the 1917, P14, SMLE, etc?

I want to replace the trigger in my Remington M30, will the Timney Enfield Sportsman do?

thanks,

Rob

No, the SMLE is a totally different design and there is no aftermarket trigger for them Don't need it anyway. The 17 and 14 are the same as the Rem 30, which is a sporterized 1917.
And it depends on your M30; early ones used the cock on closing bolt; same as the 17. After about 1932, they went to a cock on opening and I do not know about those . It is a solution to a non existent problem.

From their website the two models are...

Compatible with 5 Shot Mag #110 Trigger
P-17 Enfield
Fits American, not the Lee Enfield or the British
Remington 1917

Compatible with 6 Shot Mag #111 Trigger
P-17 Enfield
Fits American, not the Lee Enfield or the British
Remington 1917

I have a request in to their tech support.

Just checked Brownells, they say for the Rem. M30 to use the Model 110, 5 shot.

Just for my own knowledge, is the Rem 720 the same trigger as the 30?

One of the great pleasures in being a rifle looney is the opportunity to re-discover a previous purchase, squirreled away in the back of a drawer.

Turns out some years back I purchased 2 NOS Dayton Traister replacement triggers for the M30 and had them nicely wrapped up in the "custom parts" drawer.

Can anyone offer insights to them, just as easy to install and use as the Timney? As reliable? The Timney is not at all expensive and this is a once in a lifetime hunt (Maine Moose) so I have no aversion to buying one but if the Dayton is as good or better, then so be it.

thanks,

Rob

I have Dayton Traister cock on opening conversion units and triggers on all my converted Enfields (six in all), including the .505 SRE I took to Africa three times, and a regular Dayton Traister trigger on my G33/40 in 7X57, which I also took to Africa.

I never experienced any kind of difficulty with any of them.

I don't know. I never recall having to adjust one. (I didn't install them, with the exception of the one on the G33/40. The only difficulty I had with it was making the Buehler safety work properly, which a little filing took care of.)

I have a Timeny on a M1917 Remington; the rifle has the shortest hook up time I have ever seen on a rifle. I took it to the range to test accuracy; the accuracy could not be improved upon so I applied the leaver policy. I left-er the way I foundry. It was decided the rifle was the ugliest rifle ever customized by reloading forums that were tacking the auction.
